Sabka Spice


Spice Telecom has launched a handset combo offer- a handset and a Spice connection -- called Sabka Spice, available at Rs 599, and aimed at the rural population.

The prepaid connection comes with a one-year validity and zero rental for one year, along with a local call rate of 50 p/min to Spice phones, 65 p/min to any local GSM number and Rs 1.10/min to any other local number.

The postpaid connection comes with a

monthly fixed charge of Rs 35, 10 p/min on Spice-to-Spice local calls and 75 p/min to any other local number.

Subodh Srivastava, COO, Spice Telecom said, "Spice has always strived to offer to the consumers, world class mobile telephony solutions. Globally, the challenge has been to develop a solution that is cost effective and easy to use for the rural population. The Sabka Spice combo offer is our effort at inclusive development that gives the rural people an opportunity to go mobile with an offer that is affordable and customized to the needs of rural population."

The handset being offered with this connection is the Spice S300 that has a stand-by time of 250 to 300 hours and a talk time of 3.5 to 4 hours. An audio interface system substitutes for an LCD, as alerts on the mobile are called out through this mechanism, allowing people who cannot read to use the phone by following the audio alerts.

The Spice S300 phone provides three choices of language: English, Hindi and Punjabi.

The Spice S300 phone is also equipped with a speaker-phone, allows speed dialing, has a universal charger, is light-weight at 75 gms, and has red and blue LEDs to indicate different functions.
